Never Eat These Foods Before Bed-time

Hunger before bedtime is common especially when you are used to staying up late watching movies or on the internet. The craving to eat something before going to bed after staying up late makes a person consume anything that is available. Bedtime hunger is not a bad thing, but there are foods that shouldn't be consumed before going to sleep as they can create health issues.

Avoid these foods before going to bed.

Dairy fat

Having calorie rich cheese or butter for dinner or even before bedtime ensures that your digestive system is going to have a hard time at the night, thus disrupting your smooth sleep.

Caffeine

Caffeine from the coffee doesn't let you sleep peacefully. It is majorly used to kick our sleepiness so it should never be consumed before bedtime.

Spiced or Oily foods

Spices cause flatulence and oils lead to indigestion, ensuring incomplete and disturbed sleep. Please stay away from oily foods before bed for health-sake

Red meat

As I said earlier in this blog, dinner should always be the lightest meal of the day. If you make your digestive system work heavily overnight, it’s difficult for you to get a sound sleep! Red meat is a very heavy must be avoided at all cost to ensure a good night’s sleep.

Beans

Beans before bed simply fasten the process of flatulence! Avoid it to have a trouble-free night.

Sugars

Sugars give you instant energy and that’s exactly what you don’t need before a good night’s sleep so avoid it before bedtime.

Aerated drinks

These drinks have acidic content with a lot of sugar and caffeine. Drinking them can destroy your sound sleep for the whole night so keeping them for the day is a lot wiser!

Alcohol

Alcohol makes you drowsy, and as far as sleeping is concerned that’s not the kind of sleep you’d like to have. Avoid alcohol to invite the perfect sleep!

Cruciferous vegetables

Majorly, broccoli, and cauliflower—are loaded with vitamins that are great for you, but they also carry a large amount of insoluble fiber, which takes a long time to digest. Holistic nutritionist Elissa Goodman explains that if you eat these vegetables before bed, "your body will still be working on digesting it while you drift off," which will, in turn, keep you from getting a comfortable night of sleep.

Tomato sauce

Another veggie-based favorite to avoid, because of its high acidity, it's often the cause of morning-after heartburn and indigestion.

Dark chocolate

Basically, dark chocolate is double the energy, making it a much better snack for the afternoon than the middle of the night.
