Homemade Salted Biscuits

Salted biscuit is a baked biscuit that has a crumbly texture and a salty flavor, which is quite tempting to people of all age groups. It goes well with tea and coffee.


☛2 ½ cup all-purpose flour
☛1 tsp baking powder
☛½ tsp salt
☛2 tsp powder milk
☛½ cup melted lard
☛½ cup vegetable oil, slightly warm
☛2 tsp melted butter
☛1 ½ tbsp powdered sugar
☛½ tsp nigella seeds
☛1 – 3 tbsp water (if needed)


⏩Sift flour, baking powder & powder milk.
⏩In a bowl, add lard, oil & melted butter. Whisk well
⏩Add powder sugar & salt. Whisk until well combined.
⏩In wet ingredients, add dry ingredients.
⏩Gently mix & gather everything to smooth dough. If the mixture is too crumbly then add 1 to 3 tbsp water.
⏩Add nigella seeds & mix well.
⏩Pinch medium sized balls from the dough. Roll them evenly in your plums. Slightly flatten them.
⏩Place the biscuits on a lined baking tray. Press with a fork on top.
⏩Bake at 170°C on a preheated oven for 20 – 25 minutes or till lightly golden.
⏩Remove from oven & cool down completely.
⏩When cooled, store in an airtight container.
