Spicy Sardines and Ugali Recipe

Spicy Sardines Recipe

½ bunch spinach.
500 ml (2 cups) water.
2.5 ml (½ tsp) turmeric.
2.5 ml (½ tsp) pepper.
80 g (1/2 cup) Ugali.
125 ml (½ cup) low-fat or fat-free milk. (approximate amount).
425 g can Lucky Star Sardines in Chili Sauce

Wash the spinach in plenty of cold water, trim the thick stalks and roughly shred the leaves.
Bring the 500 ml (2 cups) water to the boil in a medium saucepan. Add the turmeric and pepper. Slowly add the Ugali and beat continuously with a whisk while adding. Cover and simmer over very low heat for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Add the spinach and enough milk to make the Ugali nice and creamy. Gently stir in the sardines, heat through and serve with a salad.
