Tips to help your newborn baby sleep

So you know the newborn months when baby wakes up every couple of hours? Well, we are still there and my son is 9months old... I can feel myself literally going insane from the lack of sleep so here is how his schedule goes

8pm - dinner 9pm - bath time 10pm - 8oz of milk while I hold him he soundly falls asleep then I lay him in his crib and I try to go to bed 11pm - guess who's awake screaming his little head off... more milk then it's off to bed 2am - shrieking screams and another bottle 4am - more crying more bottle 730am - more crying more bottles 10am - he wakes up happy like a normal baby and he is ready for the day

Now, during the day he eats good, naps good everything is awesome he is such a happy guy its just at night this gremlin comes out and I am seriously losing my mind!! Please help I don't know if he genuinely is hungry or is he just waking up because he is used to it? Idk and thoughts?

Ensure your baby is well-fed


Before contemplating to take your baby to sleep ensure that you have fed him or her. You can know whether your baby is hungry by placing your finger under their chin and if the baby tries to suck it, then the baby is hungry.

Establish a bedtime routine


Creating a solid routine before bedtime will help your baby know what to expect before bedtime. One can choose to give the baby a bath or a night kiss. This will signal to the child that this is the time to sleep.

Walk with your baby


When you notice your baby is sleepy but for so reason they are not falling asleep, gently place them on your should and walk around the house. The continuous movement will greatly help soothe the baby to sleep.

Play music


Classical or slow music will have a soothing effect on the baby and make some babies respond to the sound and will find it soothing.

Keep your baby active during the day


Create a playful and active environment for the baby when they are awake. Keeping your baby active during the day will make them exhausted thus the will catch sleep faster.

Monitor and limit your baby’s sleep during the day


Fix a schedule for your baby’s daytime naps. Ensure that your baby does not sleep for long periods of time during the day so as she or he can get time to sleep during the night.
