This cake is fantastic. I made it for some friends and they were impressed with the moistness and texture.

It's as simple as this: Ingredients

➽1 cup sugar
➽1 ¹/₂ cups Vegetable Oil
➽4 eggs
➽1 orange, juiced and zested
➽2 cups semolina
➽1 cup self-raising flour
➽1 ¹/₂ tsp Baking Powder


  • Preheat oven to 165°C.
  • Place sugar, Vegetable oil, eggs, orange zest and juice into a bowl. Mix until ingredients are well combined.
  • Stir together semolina, flour, and Baking Powder until combined, then slowly add it to the wet ingredients while mixing.
  • Grease and line a cake pan and pour in the mixture.
  • Bake at 165°C for 55-60 minutes, until golden-brown and the cake is firm in the middle.
