Munching on store-bought banana chips may seem like a healthy alternative to chips or pretzels, but the packaged versions of this tasty snack are often packed with extra sugar and fat. A single serving of Great Value brand banana chips from Walmart contains 10 grams of fat (including 7 grams of saturated fat), though bananas on their own are virtually fat-free. Fortunately, you can easily cut the fat by making your own banana chips at home.

Bananas are a good source of potassium, which is why they help with cramps. Livestrong reported: “Eating bananas, which contain a good amount of potassium, is one way to help to replace lost potassium. Symptoms of low potassium include muscle cramping, weakness, and irregular heartbeat.”

Baked Banana Chips Recipe


All you need is:


➔Bananas
➔Lemon juice
➔Water
➔Salt
➔Vegetable Oil

Method:


➧Slice bananas very thin (1/8″), brush with lemon juice mixed with just a little water and a little vegetable oil. Sprinkle with salt.

➧Bake at 120°C for about 1 ¹/₂ – 2 hours, flipping them over around halfway through until they are crispy.

➧Let cool (the longer they cool the crispier they become).
