The best homemade doughnuts you’ll ever eat

Doughnuts dusted with sugar

Hot and sizzling from the fryer and dusted with sugar, nothing beats a homemade doughnut. While not a healthy dessert, a jam doughnut or simple ring doughnut is a wonderful occasional treat!

Here's why you don't need to say NO to sugar all the time!

1. Energy

Sugar contains fructose as well as glucose, which are your body’s main sources of energy. Your small intestine has an enzyme known as sucrose, which breaks down the fructose and glucose in sugar. It then helps the body to absorb them and send to different parts of the body through the liver. Insulin helps the glucose travel to various cells and converts it into energy.

2. Prevents blood sugar drop

Excess glucose gets stored in your body to use in-between meals when you don’t have any immediate source of fuel available. This is also important during the night when you take a long break between your dinner and breakfast. Having this extra reserve of energy prevents any sudden and dangerous dips in blood sugar levels.Doughnuts
