Strawberry Oat Smoothie

If there is one thing I am completely obsessed with, is oatmeal. Other than the fact that it’s delicious, it’s one of the most convenient healthy options for breakfast. Most importantly, they are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates and dietary fiber. According to a study conducted by the University of Maryland, it was noted that oatmeal significantly lowers cholesterol levels. Another huge benefit is that it’s rich in anti-oxidant properties and helps undo any damage done to your skin by pollution, UV rays or chemicals. That being said, there are many ways to incorporate oatmeal into your diet and one of my favorites is to have it in a smoothie. If you're looking to try a new smoothie recipe, keep reading!

What You'll Need 

¹/₄ cup rolled oats, soaked overnight

¹/₄ natural plain yogurt

1 tbsp. chia seeds

1 large frozen banana, sliced into chunks

5 pitted dates

2 cubes of dark chocolate

1 cup of strawberries

¹/₂ teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation 

Simply place the all of the ingredients into the blender and blend until creamy and thick.
